I'm someone lost in time when it comes to music taste. I was born in 62 but enjoy music from 61. I didn't even know this kind of music existed until I saw those K-tel commercials on TV back in the mid 70's. They were selling "oldies" songs on LP records. You know those things that are black, round and larger than CDs and DVDs? Anyway, once I heard that music I had to hear more.
Nowadays unless I'm on the net I can't find that music. There is a station here WCBS-FM but they play stuff that only goes back to the 60's. I need some 50's too.
Places like Live 365, Pandora, and a few others let you listen to or create stations that give you the era your looking for. So if I want to hear Dion or Duane Eddy's twangy guitar that is where I go.
The lyrics are another thing. You can understand them. I know you'll hear your Bom Ba Ba Boms and your Do Langs too but for the most part you can understand what is being said.
Sooooo I am going to see what I can link onto this page 50's and 60's musicwise and write new entries when I do.
